Beauty Tips

Do you need a blemish gone by the weekend but you're completely out of acne spot treatment?
Here's a quick fix: apply a dab of basic white toothpaste (paste, not gel, and not the whitening type as they contain stronger chemicals) to cleansed spot before going to bed. It will dry out the blemish and get the cycle over more quickly. In the morning it should be much less noticeable. If it's still bright red, try placing a Visine soaked cotton ball on it for a few minutes and it should, well, get the red out! If you still see redness and have an important event to attend, try dabbing the spot with a little eyebrow pencil — you'll have an instant beauty mark and no more blemish. One of the biggest changes in "beauty" in the 2000s  is how we shop for beauty products. Woman gazing in mirror.Oh sure, there are some pretty cool new beauty products out there, anti-wrinkle creams and lotions that, after decades and maybe even centuries of bogus effectiveness claims, actually get rid of a line and wrinkle or two! But more on that later.

The "Look" has changed over the decades (and then changed back when no one was paying attention), but the products are, for the most part, the same. The names still sound familiar, , Chanel, Lancome, Prescriptives...then there are some new comers: although their names escape me at the moment.

That's OK...we love them anyway, and a-buying we will go, just like our mothers and grandmothers before us. We just buy them differently now! The internet has opened up a world of beauty products that simply boggles the mind. We are no longer limited to the mere 2 or 3 thousand products sold at our local shopping mall. No, we now have at least 100 times as many products to choose from.

We are picky shoppers, and demand more from our beauty products. The products themselves are an expression of our personal style, and the packaging must be as beautiful as the product promises to make us. It must fit our lifestyle too.

Large and bulky? Nyet! Slim, Sleek and on the move!

Lest we forget how to apply lipstick, or get the mascara wand stuck in our eyeball, today's gal needn't worry as help is just a ring-tone away!

Today's gal needs a deal? No Problemo! Just a click away.
