It would be fun to say that I "discovered" Popina Swimwear, except that she found me, so there was not much discovering on my part with the exception being that I "discovered" that I love this swimwear! (Aren't I funny). When I was a young Teenie Bopper, the postage stamp swimsuit was "IN" so that's what we wore... and in theory I have nothing against them, especially if you are good at remaining perfectly still for long periods of time.

"Regarding inspiration, I have always loved swimwear of the past and grew up sewing, the beginning of the Popina Swimwear line five years ago was when I was going on vacation to Cancun and could not find a bathing suit that I felt fit well and was flattering. On that trip what would become my Boy Short was and Halter Top were born. Since then I continue to reach to styles of the past for my inspiration, updating the suits with modern fits, style and construction."
