The emaciated twiglet is OUT.
I personally hope we have seen the (tail) end of the thong bikini and let's face it the postage stamp bikini is only flattering on teenage hard bodies and the few who for one reason or another seem to be stuck in puberty. Or maybe that's malarkey, but anyway I am just not in the mood for itsy bitsy. I mean, really.
Putting the Voom back into Va Va Voom!
The Best Bikinis
Shoshanna would be easy to hate - gorgeous, richer than god - and then there was that I'm 17 and dating Jerry Seinfeld episode. Which - oddly enough she managed to carry off with style, emerging as Shoshanna the fashion designer. And I'll be diggity dog-darned, if she doesn't do that well too! Her stuff is girly-feminine without getting silly, gives a wide berth to sleazy, but is still on the skimpy side of the cloth-o-meter. So if you are the fabric-allergic type, go with a Shoshanna creation.
Other quasi-designer brands that have cute suits: Tommy Bahama, ViX Swimwear (nice mod patterns, a la early '60s), Trina Turk, Radio Fiji, Gottex, La Blanca by Rod Beattie, Ralph Lauren
Betsey Johnson 'Jailhouse Rock' Tankini Top: You will have everybody wondering why you showed up on the beach in your nightie. Would be cute nightie.
BCBGMAXAZRIA Stripe Bikini Bottoms The "Slutkini" or did she just forget to pull up her pants all the way after using the potty?

Cute Suits On The Cheap!
(I'm not so thrilled with the mix and match thing - you end up looking like you lost half and borrowed a friends - not to mention that you end up paying much more for a suit...)
It's All Retro Glamour, Baby!
"Retro-inspired suits with the look of one sleek piece. Nothing says sophisticated glamour more than a Hollywood-inspired style.
In sharp black, the latest swim styles are only more chic, not to mention body-perfecting.
Try a slimming suit with two pieces, like a tankini top and skirted bottom, this look still manages to be utterly flawless (not to mention hot) while providing comfortable coverage!
It's a style that will last all season, and one that will be back next year. Find one at a great price is easy and this new swim style is a steal for it's wow beach-body abilities alone!" Somebody Hip and With-It at Chadwick's
"One Piece Swimwear that shapes and firms with elegant styling."
