APPLE PANCAKE WITH APPLE SAUCE, German

I listed this recipe under supper because I have only seen this served as a "Sweet Supper". Germans don't typically eat pancakes for breakfast.

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • 1 ¾ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp, sugar 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup apple sauce
  • 3 tbsp, melted shortening
  • few drops anise oil
Preparation Instructions

Sift together dry ingredients; combine egg, milk, applesauce, shortening and stir until smooth. Drop mixture from spoon onto a hot griddle. Serve with sugar, cinnamon or honey.
