MAIN COURSEARDEI UMPLUTZI (Stuffed Green Peppers), RomanianThis recipe is a variation of: SARMALUTZE DIN FRUNZE DE VITZA Ingredients
Tomato SaucePreparation InstructionsClean the inside of peppers. Fill, cover with water (scantily) or stock, add salt, pepper, dill and cook slowly about 1 hour. Tomato SauceMelt butter, blend in flour, add minced onion, and cook until golden brown. Add Remaining Ingredients and Stir. Add tomato sauce (or 2 cups tomato juice and broth and stir over low heat until smooth. Pour over cooked peppers and shake pan to distribute tomato sauce evenly. Simmer about 10 minutes.
