RECIPES FROM THE RETRO HOUSEWIFE
BARBECUED CHICKEN, American
Pour one bottle soy sauce over 2 pounds cut up chicken and marinate 20 to 30 minutes or overnight. Dip chicken pieces in favorite barbecue sauce and roll in crushed up barbecue potato chips. Cover with wax paper and microwave on bacon-meat rack, 5 minutes on high and 10 minutes on medium high (about 7 minutes per pound). When juices are clear, chicken is done. Serve with vegetables.

HAVE A COMMENT, QUESTION OR RECIPE OF YOUR OWN?
I would like to thank Newspaperarchive for putting together such a fabulous service, and placing our Nation's history right at our fingertips. Many of these wonderful recipes are ones I stumbled upon quite by accident while sleuthing through the decades in my quest to assemble the world of the American housewife. RH
