Things That Make Me Feel Old...

It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was standing in line at the DMV on my 16th birthday nervously awaiting my driver's test so I could get my license and the freedom that came with it! Now I am sitting in the passenger seat, nervously scanning the road and trying to cram at least 10 year's driving experience into my 15 1/2 year old daughter.

I remember the age well...nothing could stop me or hurt me, the driving teacher was an old fogey, and that WAS a complete stop...sort of. Fun, was cramming all my friends into the car, blasting the radio, and ignoring the speed limit just for the heck of it. Seat belts? Would have never crossed my mind, and I don't think they worked anyway. So my question is...

What were they thinking? Who ever had the bright idea to let 16 year olds drive? Why am I suddenly empathising with my old fogey driving teacher?
