CHICKEN PIE, Russian
Prepare thin dough and fit it into a pan (reserve a top crust). Cook chicken, remove bones and return the meat to the pan, add eggs, rice, mushrooms and simmer with onions. Pour the mixture into the lined pan. Cover with the top crust and put into a hot oven until browned. Serve hot with gravy.
Melt butter and stir in flour, add stock and cook over fire until thickened, stirring constantly. Add chopped mushrooms.Goes with: pie shell - American recipe for a pie shell.
