Tips

Christmas was once abolished by an act of parliament in England. That was in 1644 when the Puritans under Oliver Cromwell governed the realm. The Puritans' disbelief in holiday enjoyment was so intense that parliament ordered Christmas to be observed as a strict fast day. No roast beef, no plum pudding, no wassail were permitted.
