DESSERT

CRUSTLESS APPLE PIE, American

Ingredients
  • Apples (6 med. sized tart firm)
  • 1/5 to ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3/8 c. or 6 T shortening (part butter for flavor)
Preparation Instructions

Peel apples, cut into eighths. Place in saucepan with sugar, cinnamon and water, and cook until apples are partially done (about 10 min.). Then place in deep (over)
