SAUCES

'Discovered' Valley Ranch Dressing Mix, American

Ingredients
  • Dry Mix
  • 1 ½ tablespoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons monosodium glutamate (MSG)
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • For each 2 cups dressing: 1 cup each mayonnaise and buttermilk and 3 ¼ teaspoons dry mix
Preparation Instructions

Here's how:

For dry mix: In an airtight container, combine salt, MSG, parsley, garlic powder, pepper and onion powder; mix well and store.

To prepare 2 cups salad dressing: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup mayonnaise, cup buttermilk and 3 ¼ teaspoons dry mix. Stir to mix well. Refrigerate, covered, 24 hours to let flavors blend.

Variations: Blue Cheese: Add ¼ to ½ cup crumbled blue cheese to 2 cups basic dressing.

Creamy Italian: Add a dash of cayenne pepper and 1 teaspoon crushed, dried Italian seasonings to 2 cups basic dressing.
