DESSERT

DOBOS CAKE, Hungarian

Ingredients

    Cake

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 9 tbsp. flour
  • Cream

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ lb. butter
  • 3 cubes melted chocolate
Preparation Instructions

Cake

Mix the eggs yolks with the 3 tbsp sugar until fluffy. Whip the egg whites until hard and add 2 tbsp of sugar. Add alternately the whipped egg whites and 9 tbsp. flour to the egg yolks. Mix slowly and carefully. Put waxed paper on top of the pan and sprinkle it with flour. Pour the dough over it and spread it out. Bake in oven at 400 ° until golden-brown. Cut four equal layers and fill with the following cream:

Cream

Whip all the ingredients until fluffy. Put the cream filling between three of the layers, add the fourth layer and top with icing: Brown 1 cup of white sugar in a pan. Spread on top of the fourth layer. Cut only the top layer in wedges while the top of the icing is still warm. The cake can be fully sliced when the cake is ready to serve.
