KEWPIE STRAWBERRY DREAM CAKE, American
Empty cake mix into the largest bowl of electric mixer. Add strawberry gelatin. Puree 1/2 package of sliced strawberries in blender (or put through a sieve) and pour into measuring cup; add enough water to make 3/4 cup. Add with vegetable oil and eggs to the mixture. Blend at low speed just enough to moisten. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed of mixer, or with spoon, until creamy.
Pour batter into greased and floured heart-shaped cake pan or into a 9-inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Loosen cake from sides of pan. Turn out and finish cooling on cake rack.
