BAKED GOODSKhubuz Araby (Arabic Bread), ArabianIngredients
Preparation InstructionsMix all ingredients together, adding water until dough is soft, but not too sticky. Cover well and put in warm place. Let rise 1 to 2 hours. When ready to begin, heat oven to 475-500°. Cut dough into medium-sized balls. Keep covered. When this is finished, the first balls have risen enough. Flour a board and get a rolling pin. Press the ball of dough and roll out a little less than ¼ inch thick. Loaf will be round and flat. Put loaf on a flat cookie sheet or some equivalent. Bake less than 5 minutes. Loaf will be separated in the center, filled with air and will look blown up. Quickly place under flame to brown (½ minute).
