Throughout history, parents have failed to properly educate their children about the perils that accompany spinning, sewing, weaving and knitting only to regret it later.
History is filled with tragic stories of hardship and discomfort brought about by the practice of these crafts. Take Little Briar Rose, for example. Her parents knew well in advance of their daughter's fate, yet failed to warn her never to attempt spinning flax into yarn, or to arm her with a generous credit account at Ye Old Cloth & Footwear. Instead she learned the hard way, from an evil stranger who tempted her with a merrily bouncing spindle.
