MAIN COURSE

KÖNIGSBERGER KLOPS (Konisberger Meat Balls), German

Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 lb. ground pork
  • 1 bread roll, moistened in milk and squeezed
  • 1 cup chopped fresh anchovies (cleaned)
  • 1 onion, grated
Preparation Instructions

Mix ground beef and pork with squeezed bread roll, add egg, grated onion and 2 tbsp. chopped anchovies. Form ping pong-size meat balls, and put into boiling water. Take out after they emerge and simmer in gravy for 5 to 10 minutes.

Goes with: Gravy - This is the special gravy that goes with this dish.
