DESSERT

Kris Kringles, American

Ingredients
  • 1 6 oz pkg. semi sweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • Dash of salt
  • ½ t. vanilla
  • ½ c. flaked coconut
  • ½ c. dry roasted peanuts
Preparation Instructions

In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; cool to lukewarm. Beat in egg until smooth and glossy, Add powdered sugar, salt and vanilla; mix well. Stir in coconut and nuts. Chill. Form into 10-inch-long roll. Wrap and chill until firm, several hours or overnight. Slice ¼ inch thick.

Makes 40 slices.
