How can I learn to cook?

The way I learned to cook was by first helping my parents in the kitchen and later by reading recipes and talking to other cooks.
Really, the only thing that makes a chef is practice. Of course, some people do have natural skills, but for most people, first comes a series of false fire alarms and black casseroles. My suggestion to you is to just start finding recipes and working on it on your own. Also, find a friend who knows a little about cooking and ask her to try a recipe with you. It's always more fun to cook with a friend.
Some very easy recipes are: Macaroni and cheese, broiled salmon and rice, and cous cous salad.
