DESSERT

Mayonnaise Cake, American

Here is a recipe my mom made. It was in her 1952 Presbyterian Recipe book. I have made it with Hellman's Mayo in a pinch, but using Miracle Whip makes the cake taste better. I've also used different types of coffee from instant to Hazelnut. It tastes good with any flavor. this can be put together in five minutes - easy!!!! Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 T. cocoa powder
  • 1 cup cold coffee
  • 1 cup Miracle Whip or Hellman’s Mayonnaise
Preparation Instructions

Just mix everything together, in any order, and bake in 9x13 pan at 350° for 30 minutes! Spread with favorite icing.
