Lenox 2007 Christmas Trees Of The World Norway Plate
The Christmas tree was introduced to Norway in the early 19th century. This
custom was adopted from the Germans. Most Christmas trees are adorned with white
lights and a star on top. It is also customary to string handmade paper chains
vertically from the top of the Christmas tree to represent world solidarity and
union. Norwegian flags also became an important tradition for decorating the
tree to symbolize Norway's independence.
