BAKED GOODS

NUT FILLING, Romanian

Ingredients
  • 1 cup ground walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped raisins
  • Grated lemon peel (or 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and a pinch of cloves)
Preparation Instructions

Make a thin syrup with 1 cup water and the sugar; add nuts and raisins or poppy seeds and raisins. Cook slightly. Cool. Use as a filling.
