Dried FigsDried figs snipped fine with the kitchen shears are a wonderful addition to oatmeal cookies. This sweet, chewy fruit is a favorite for eating out of hand, just as it comes from the package.

Oatmeal Fruit Cookies, American
Cream butter, sugar and eggs until well blended. Mix dry ingredients together. Add to butter and egg mixture. Mix well, adding only enough milk to make dough that is easy to handle. Mix in fruits and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350˚ for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned.
