Unclogs Drains

Clogged drains a problem? You don't need expensive drain cleaners with vinegar in the house. Just pour a handful of baking soda down the clogged drain, add 1/2 cup of vinevar, cover tightly for about a minute and the clog's gone.

RECIPES FROM THE RETRO HOUSEWIFE

SIDE DISH

OKLAHOMA CORN PUDDING, American

Ingredients
  • 6 tender, milky ears of corn
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 pint milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 heaping tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
Preparation Instructions

Split corn down the center of each row of kernels then scrape cob well. Stir beaten eggs into scraped corn, add flour, salt and pepper. Stir in pint of milk and mix all thoroughly. Put into cold buttered pan about 4. inches deep. Cover top of pudding with butter cut into small pieces. Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 1 hour. Serve hot.
