Orange Glow Hardwood Cleaner, RATING: EXCELLENT

Your hardwood floors are not only beautiful; they are a great investment and deserve proper care. Some traditional cleaning methods can be damaging to wood. By using a plain mop and bucket, you can saturate floors with excess water, which can cause the wood to swell or buckle.

SUMMARY

I have very old, hardwood floors in my house, in what I thought was terrible condition. So before I refinished my floors I decided to try the Orange Glow Hardwood kit in the big green box. Inside the box was a spray bottle of Orange Glo Hardwood Floor Cleaner, a bottle of Orange Glo Hardwood Floor Refinisher and great mop with washable cleaning pad. A word about the cleaning pad. It is fantastic. I have been using the system for about 6 months now and wash the pad each time I do the floors, and the pad still works great.

REVIEW

This is a great Product for People who care about the environment.

The cleaner and refinisher are both non-toxic and that is great for those of us with kids and dogs who crawl all over the floor all the time. In addition, the mop comes with washable mop heads which you reuse over and over. I have been using mine for about six months and they both look like they could go an additional 6 months.

The Floor Cleaner:

I cant say enough about the floor cleaner. I now use it on all the finished wood in my house. In addition to being an excellent cleaning agent, the bottle and spray head deliver a incredibly fine and even spray which makes cleaning fast and efficient.

The Refinisher

I slather on the Refinisher after I use the cleaner and the wood just sucks it up and springs to life. The pads for cleaning and refinishing are different and I dont wash the refinishing pad. I keep it in a zip lock bag so it stays damp. And I dont add water to my mop as recommended. Also, I dont wait 3 months as stated on the product. I refinish every time I clean the floors.

Final Thoughts

For anyone thinking about refinishing or stripping their hardwood floors, I highly recommend using this product first. It really cleans the wood. It hides blemishes that used to drive me crazy, and it makes the wood glow. Plus, I now think that the older floors have more character because this product seems to blend the imperfections. And did I say that my 25 years old floors glow? I recently went to the house of dear friend who had her floors refinished. The wood was identical to mine, because we live in the same neighborhood and our houses were built together. Ignoring the facts that she spent eight thousand dollars and had to leave her house twice for two days at a time (sanding and finishing) I like mine better.
