RECIPES FROM THE RETRO HOUSEWIFE

MAIN COURSE

PASTRY SHEETS (FILO), Greek

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • ½ of a beaten egg
  • 1 cup water
  • a little salt
Preparation Instructions

Put flour into a bowl add oil, salt, egg, and then the water gradually. Knead for about 10 minutes. Cover the dough and let stand in a warm place for at least 1 hour. Next, flour a board or a table, take a piece of the dough the size of an egg, give it the shape of a patty, sprinkle with flour and roll with rolling pin, trying to make it as thin as possible. Greek recipes calling for pastry sheets are supposed have the sheets as thin as tissue paper.

Goes with: SPINACH PIE - .
