PRESERVES

PEACH CHUTNEY, American

Ingredients
  • 2 cups peeled chopped peaches
  • 1 cup peeled chopped apples
  • ¼ cup chopped celery
  • ½ cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1½ cups cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup seedless raisins
Preparation Instructions

Combine all ingredients except raisins and cook until thick, stirring frequently (about 45 minutes). Meanwhile, steam raisins for 20 minutes. Add to chutney just before pouring. Pour hot mixture into clean jars and seal. Makes 1 ½ to 2 pints.
