In response to Jess from Australia's comment -- there's more to life than family and marriage and your whole life revolving around the house -- I'd like to know WHAT is more important than family and marriage and home? It certainly can't be "the job" where you can be replaced in the blink of an eye; where six months after you retire nobody remembers your name or what you did for the company.

It's just so sad that many "modern" women do not get it…there's power and art and skill in housekeeping -- and for many of us, joy. Many women who "keep house" are just as educated, savvy, and cultured, as those who don't. If the truth be told, I've met as many shallow and un-interesting women standing in the water cooler line at work, as I've met standing over a pot of soup in the kitchen. Just because you leave the house every morning, that doesn't make you a brighter woman.
