SARMALUTZE (Stuffed Vegetable Leaves), Romanian

This recipe is a variation of: SARMALUTZE DIN FRUNZE DE VITZA

Ingredients

Instead of grape leaves or cabbage leaves, there are other firm vegetable leaves just as good, such as large fresh and firm beet leaves, kohlrabi leaves, chard, etc. Be careful when wilting as some are very tender. Use filling and sauce as for grape leaves (SARMALUTZE DIN FRUNZE DE VITZA). Same filling and sauce for stuffed kohlrabi, turnips, squash, etc. Eggplants and tomatoes may be filled and cooked as above also.
