RECIPES FROM THE RETRO HOUSEWIFE

DESSERT

SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES, American

Ingredients
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 5 c. flour
Preparation Instructions

Combine ingredients and mix well. Roll out. If dropped cookies are preferred, use less flour and drop from spoon. Bake at 400° 8 to 10 minutes or until done. Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
