SIDE DISHSPOON CORNBREAD, AmericanIngredients
Preparation InstructionsSift cornmeal and salt in bowl. Add bacon drippings to boiling water and pour over the meal. Mix until the dry ingredients are blended. Add the beaten egg and buttermilk to which the soda has been added. Put more bacon fat in bottom of baking dish and allow to get very hot. Pour in cornbread. Bake in 350° oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
