  • Brine (½ cup salt to 1 quart water)
  • 2 teaspoons powdered alum
  • 2 quarts vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sweet red peppers
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole allspice
  • ½ tablespoon whole cloves
Preparation Instructions

Wash cucumbers and cut into medium sized chunks. Peel onions (use the small pickling onions) and break cauliflower into pieces. Cover with hot brine; add alum.
