WATERMELON BOWL, American

Ingredients
  • 1 watermelon
  • 1 pineapple, peeled and chunked
  • 6 oranges, peeled and cut in sections
  • 1 ½ cups Collins Punch (recipe follows)
Preparation Instructions

Choose melon according to number of guests expected. For large group, choose large melon and increase amounts of other fruits. To scallop melon: First make sure melon sits firmly and level. If necessary, prop melon with wedges of rind to secure it. Using a small glass and a pencil, draw scallops around the melon. With a sharp knife, cut the scallops; pry off top. Cut flesh of melon into chunks. Remove seeds. Mix with other fruits. Replace in shell and pour over fruit the Collins Punch and allow to marinate ½ hour before serving.
