Sears Manage My Home
Here is a book about fashionable clothing from the Sears Catalogs of
the 1950s. |
WHAT'S UP AT SEARS?OR, Have You Seen Sears Lately? The old Sears Catalogs have been a great source of material for the "Survey of the Decades Section" of this site; In fact, those old catalogs are a piece of your history, (assuming you are an American...if not, just pretend you are for a bit) and tell a great deal about our social customs and shopping habits over the years.
Like take me for example, growing up in Santa Barbara, California. We ordered everything from Sears, and I still remember picking out two pairs of plaid, denim, bell-bottom ToughSkins (Jeans, guaranteed not to rip at the knee). I climbed a lot of trees back then, and my ToughSkins were the only pants up to the job! Therefore, it is only fair that I give Sears a plug and see where
they are today (and so they don't come after me for using their catalog
pictures). I still buy all of my major appliances at Sears: Sears presents a modern, new look for home decor... Compare to Sears 1970s Home Decor... |
